The Inaugural Australia-China-New Zealand Buddhist Forum 2024 Compassionate Harmony | Multicultural Coexistence

The forthcoming Inaugural Australia, China and New Zealand
Buddhist Forum in Sydney, initially slated for 2019 but rescheduled due to COVID
to August 2-6, 2024. This is an important step in disseminating Buddhist
teachings, strengthening the NSW Buddhist communities and fostering cultural
exchange between Australia, China,  New
Zealand and ASEAN countries, thus enriching the global Buddhist community.

The Australia China Buddhist Council, since its formal
recognition in 2014, has been at the forefront of promoting Dharma through
diverse charitable, educational, and cultural initiatives. Our collaboration
with the Buddhist Association of China and the the Buddhist Association of New
Zealand for the upcoming forum underscores our commitment to enhancing
Buddhism’s presence in the southern hemisphere, inspired by the legacy of
previous successful forums in other countries.

This event will bring together over 500 Venerable from
Southeast Asia and leaders from over 25 countries, together with members of all
NSW Buddhist communities and representatives of other faiths. The program is
designed to encourage academic exchange, artistic expression, and interfaith
understanding.

This forum is held with the purpose of encouraging Buddhist communities in Australia, China, and New Zealand to play a more active role in promoting and enhancing communication and cooperation amongst the nations involved, inheriting and carrying forward the great vows of our eminent predecessors, as well as gathering the upward strength of seeking goodness, to achieve permanent world peace. Furthermore, this forum also aims to establish and strengthen friendship among Buddhists in the three nations, which makes this forum historically significant.

We hope the Buddhist communities in the three nations can work collaboratively toward a successful forum. We also hope Buddhists can follow the footprints of our predecessors, accept our historical mission and responsibility and make this forum successful.
